Police in Wellington are investigating a fatal shooting that left a young woman dead.
Officers were called to the 11-hundred block of South Washington Avenue around 7:30 Tuesday morning, and they found a 27-year-old woman who had been injured. Paramedics say efforts to revive her were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s identity has not been released. Police originally reported the incident as an accidental shooting.
