Charges have been filed against one of the two men arrested for a fatal shooting in southeast Wichita.
During a court hearing Wednesday, 24-year-old Jose Velazquez-Carrillo of Wichita was charged with first degree murder. His bond was set at $500,000 and his next court appearance was scheduled for March 6th.
Velazquez-Carrillo and a 33-year-old Wichita man were arrested for the February 15th shooting death of 42-year-old Candace Amack. She was found by police in the 1400 block of South George Washington Boulevard, and she was pronounced dead at the scene from several gunshot wounds.
Police later arrested the two men at a home in the 1300 block of North Jackson. No information has been released on the circumstances or the motive for the shooting.
