WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita Police say a shooting Sunday evening in south Wichita appears to be accidental.
It happened shortly before 10 p.m. in the 800 block of South Topeka. When police arrived, they found a 42-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his calf.
The man told police that a friend had come over earlier and accidentally dropped a gun. The gun went off, striking him in the calf.
The friend left when 911 was called. The man's injuries were not life threatening.
Police believe the shooting to be accidental. There's no word if any charges will be filed in the case.
